Establishment of the Cyber4Good initiative

Project No 2GLO21119
Title Establishment of the Cyber4Good initiative
Description

The project “Establishment of the Cyber4Good Initiative” (C4G) aims at enabling Least Developing Countries (LDCs) to benefit from ITU Sector Members, Member States private sector, academia, NGOs and industry experts through access to digital services, tools, products, and insights that they otherwise would not have been able to, or had the resources to, access. This project will enable participant service providers to offer their products, tools, and services to the least developed countries in favorable conditions to allow for the quick uptake of digital services by target beneficiary countries. The project has already attracted interest of relevant entities like BitSight, Silensec, Immuniweb, Polyverse and others, some of which have confirmed their interest in writing to serve as a pilot execution of the initiative.

One of the outputs linked to the project will be the definition of the framework for the establishment of the ITU’s Cybersecurity Development fund, as well as the introduction of a Governance Model for the fund and initiative through an Advisory Board. This project on the Cyber4Good will be funded jointly by the Ministry of Science and ICT (MSIT) of the Republic of Korea and by ITU. Future additional partners will be invited to support the platform to secure the long-term sustainability of the overall Cyber4Good initiative.
